Dan is a dedicated and detail-oriented attorney with years of experience representing business and individuals in civil lawsuits. Dan leverages both his courtroom advocacy and persuasive writing to deliver results for his clients. He employs a pragmatic approach to litigation, advising clients of options to achieve their goals as efficiently as possible.

Dan focuses his practice on real estate litigation, commercial litigation, employment litigation, and construction defect litigation. He also has represented clients with regard to premises liability matters, insurance coverage and bad faith claims, trade secrets litigation, copyright litigation, and trademark litigation.

As part of his real estate litigation practice, Dan has represented clients in cases involving breaches of purchase contracts, foreclosures, commercial landlord/tenant disputes, and claims by and against homeowners associations. Dan’s construction defect litigation cases have included claims arising from defective roofing, plumbing, carpentry, excavation, and HVAC systems.

Before moving to Colorado in 2015, Dan practiced law in Columbus, Ohio with Porter Wright Morris & Arthur, LLP, one of the largest and longest-established law firms in Ohio. While at Porter Wright, Ohio Super Lawyers® recognized Dan as a Rising Star in four consecutive years.

Dan began his legal career as a law clerk for the Honorable John D. Holschuh, a judge of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio.

Dan graduated from Capital University Law School, summa cum laude. While in law school, Dan won the First-Year Moot Court Competition and received the competition’s Best Oralist Award. Later, he served as the managing editor of the Capital University Law Review. At graduation, Dan received the law school’s Dean’s Award. In 2014, the law school recognized Dan with the Graduate of the Last Decade Award.

Outside of the office and the courtroom, Dan spends much of his time with his wife and two sons. They enjoy downhill skiing, hiking, and camping in quiet corners of Colorado.

Community Involvement

Mr. Miller has dedicated significant time to his community.  In Columbus, the mayor of the city appointed Mr. Miller to serve on the Clintonville Area Commission, which represented a neighborhood in Columbus with approximately 30,000 residents.  Mr. Miller chaired the commission for three years.

Mr. Miller also served on the board of the Capital University Law School Alumni Association.
